The KarmaCare™ COVID-19 lgM/lgG is an immunochromatographic lateral flow assay intended for use as an aid in identifying individuals with an adaptive immune response to SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19. The test detects antibodies to SARS-CoV-2 in human serum, plasma, venous whole blood, or finger stick whole blood indicating prior infection, even if that person never showed any symptoms. KarmaCare™ COVID-19 lgM/lgG is an important tool for surveillance and epidemiological studies to allow understanding of the dynamics of virus transmission in the general population. Reliable surveillance data can help public health officials to more accurately describe and assess the situation, improve intervention programs, and allocate resources effectively to manage and stop the virus from spreading.
